Crefft â Gofal.
Hi, I’m Alexander —
I’m 26, originally from Wales, and Im teaching myself the craft of joinery and furniture making from the ground up, combining short courses, hands-on practice, and a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. My aim is to become a full-time professional joiner and designer, creating simple, thoughtful pieces that last.
From early experiments in leatherwork to my growing exploration of wood, everything here documents the process — the sketches, the prototypes, the mistakes, the wins. This is a learning journey in real time, and you’re very welcome to follow along.

About PREN.
I started PREN. as a way to fund and document my journey into joinery. Along the way, I began learning leathercraft from my girlfriend — an apprentice at Bill Amberg Studio — which led to designing and making small, handcrafted goods. These early pieces have helped me build core skills I’ll carry into future work with timber.
PREN is rooted in my Welsh heritage. The name means “wood,” and it reflects my belief in Crefft â Gofal — Craft with care. I make small-batch, useful objects from honest materials, with a focus on quality, patience, and learning by doing.
Thanks for supporting independent makers, and for helping keep traditional skills alive.
